Moot Court organized at Singhania Law College The basic structure of the constitution cannot be changed – Supreme Court
A moot court was organized at Singhania Law College on 22 December 2022, Thursday. In the experimental program of the Moot Court, a Moot Court was organized on the pre-determined case of the Supreme Court, Kesavananda Bharti vs. the State of Kerala, in which it was decided by the majority that the basic structure of the Constitution should not be changed despite the unlimited power to amend the Constitution. In this experimental program of moot court, Devendra Kumar Nagda played the role of Chief Justice and Keshwanand Bharti, Rakesh Joshi as an advocate on behalf of the appellant and Khetdan as an assistant advocate, and Khushboo Khandelwal and assistant advocate on behalf of the state. Ishrat advocated as at the beginning of the programme, first year student Rubina presented a summary of the facts of the said episode. At the end of the program, first-year student Ghazala Anjum informed everyone about the importance of the Uniform Civil Code.
